About
Demzilla is the name of the 2004 Democratic Party database. The brainchild of former DNC chairman Terry McAuliffe, Demzilla cost millions of dollars and contains contact information on Democratic party donors, volunteers, activists and voters.
Demzilla replaced an antiquated database of just 70,000 names, run on the database program equivalent of a pocket calculator. Although the GOP database at the time, The Voter Vault had been in operation for a much longer time, Demzilla did for the Democratic Party what the GOP’s system did for them: it provided party officials with a comprehensive list of friendly contacts.
